The only remotely interesting thing that's happening to me at the moment is my weight loss, which I am thrilled as hell about, but if you're all getting heartily sick of hearing about it, I apologise profusely!
Anyhow, here are a few updates on stuff and things in my life at the moment...
Walker: I've sadly admitted defeat! I've watched episodes 1 - 5 now, in the hope that it would grow on me, and ... it hasn't. I'm just not feeling it. Obviously it's Jared and he's lovely to look at, but that's all. I don't care about Walker's family, I don't care about his partner. I am just ... not interested. I've not had anything approaching an emotional reaction yet in all five episodes I've watched. I've decided I'm not going to watch it live any more. Me watching it live doesn't improve Jared's ratings, but me buying the DVD will. So, of course, I want Jared to succeed and I'll buy the DVD when it's available here in the UK, because I still want to support Jared in any way I can, but I've reluctantly accepted that Walker just isn't for me :(
Bunnies: The bunny project continues apace. We offloaded a couple of pieces of furniture last week to make room for a big bunny crate that is now sitting in the corner of our living room. There are other arrangements and purchases to be made such as baby/pet gates for the living room doors, a covered run for the garden, and conduiting for any low level wires in the living room. We're looking at having the house bunny proofed by May, and then when the shelters open, we can start looking for the two little furbabies who are going to be sharing our life for the next few years!
Other stuff: I've booked a ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight for the 17th May which, under our unlocking rules here in the UK, is the first day I'm going to be able to get over and visit my parents. I've been keeping in touch by phone, but I'm desperate to see them. It's only two months, but it seems like forever! I've also booked a hair appointment for the 17th April (hairdressers can open on the 12th April). My hair has got really long, and - oddly enough - I kinda like it! Maybe with the weight loss, I need a complete image change... who knows? I'm going to have a word with my hairdresser and see what he advises - I trust that man far more than is healthy!
Mr D has been an absolute rock these last few months. I know he's as pissed off with lockdown as I am, but as a key worker, he at least gets out for a few days a week to go to work. Being thrown together like this could easily drive a wedge between two people, but we still laugh and smile, even when we're sharing shitty boring chores together like laundry or cleaning the fridge! We respect when each other needs space, but, we're just a great team and lockdown hasn't driven us apart. He's really on board with the bunny project even though it's going to entail some work for him, and that means more to me than I can ever say!
And finally, here's some gratuitous Jensen because, well, it's the dizzojay journal; what do you expect?
