My plans for new years eve are the same as my plans for this whole break. As little as possible!
The thing is, I spend most of my year busy. Busy with work, but with art stuff, busy with fandom stuff, busy with social stuff and cons, and just busy with day to day life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bewailing my lot in life - I choose to live like this. My aversion to boredom is close to a phobia, so I'm happy being busy all the time.
But even taking that into account, by the end of the year, I'm generally feeling a bit jaded, so when the Christmas break comes round, I normally have a week or more off work, an I make a point of planning as little as possible.
I sleep in, and potter round the house, watch movies, do jigsaws, and just spend the days with Mr D just relaxing and doing stuff that I enjoy with no deadline or expectations.
I just recharge my batteries and by January I'm usually ready to descend back into madness again!
December 29 → talk about things you are excited for next year
I think I'm equal parts excited and nervous about next year.
When I go to Darklight con in Paris in June, I'm staying on for a day and going to Versailles with my roomie, Wendy, so I'm really excited about that.
I'm excited because as well as my usual trips and events with friends, we have two JIBs next year. The second one is in December, and amazing as it will be, it's a very real possibility that it could be the last time we see J2 in Europe for a very long time, if ever.
It will also be possibly be the last time the full JIB crew will get together in one place at the same time. I know I'll keep in touch with my girls, and I'll still see a lot of them, but it's highly unlikely we'll all be together at the same time again.
Of course, next year will be the year we wave goodbye to our show, to Sam, Dean and Castiel, and to J2 as an entity. So I think as much as being exciting, next year is going to be very, very emotional.
