I bought it in the big supermarket right opposite my office, and then drove home with it. In doing so, I forgot one of the fundamental facts about pumpkins. They're round.
My ten-mile drive home was accompanied by the constant thud, thud, thud of the pumpkin first rolling off the back seat where I'd dumped it and second, rollling from one side of the car to the other. I'm actually amazed it survived the journey home, and the fact that it did is a reason to be happy in and of itself!
Also, I've booked the 31st October off work. Primarily as a bit of downtime following Asylum 17, but also because I'm away at the con this weekend, if I was at work Monday as well, I wouldn't have had any time to do any of the Hallowe'en stuff that I love, like carving the pumpkin and decorating the porch and would have had to leave it all to Mr D.
Anyway, Mr D came home from work tonight and told me that he's booked Hallowe'en off too! So, for the first time in I can't remember, our Hallowe'en is going to be a joint effort, and that's awesome!!!
And of course, Hallowe'en in the Dizzo household wouldn't be complete without these little herberts.
